ccmBuzz recently caught up with teen vocalist Jessie Daniels for an exclusive interview.
ccmBuzz: Thanks for taking time out to chat with us today! What can you tell us about your new album? How does it compare to your previous work?
Jessie: I’m excited about my debut album and the way it turned out. Sound-wise I would describe it as pop/rock with an uplifting message. I hope this record will not only offer hope to those who hear it but also be encouraging, relevant and identifiable.
ccmBuzz: I noticed you co-wrote all of the songs on this album. How important do you think it is for an artist to write at least some (if not all) of their own lyrics, the way you did? (Do you think it affects the way an artist sings a song if it’s someone else’s words and not their own? Is it as genuine? Etc.)
Jessie: I think it’s very important for an artist to write or have input in what songs they sing. I personally want to express who I am or how I feel about things, and lyrics are a way for me to do that. […read more]
