It is a wintry Wednesday afternoon in a non-descript city as an equally non-descript tour bus rolls to a stop in front of a revitalized inner city theater. From the bus’s environs bound five road weary musicians. A couple of them take a long exploratory look up and down the street while the other three busy themselves unloading equipment from the underbelly of the bus. The side of one of the equipment cases simply reads Flyleaf. […read more]

I don’t know. I was surprised and somewhat disappointed with Flyleaf’s decision to tour with Korn on the Family Values tour because of the anti-Christian aspects. You know? I can’t help but think that Korn allowed them on tour just to see if they could corrupt them or something like that. But I do know that I hate rock music, but I was pretty much drawn to Flyleaf’s music the first time I heard it. I think there is something divine about their music. It sounds like angry music at the first glance, but if you just stand a look for the least bit longer, you are uplifted by it. So even though I’m still not thrilled about their choice to tour with Korn, but I know that there’s something glorifying the King of kings and the Lord of lords…and that’s what makes me a fan.

You hate rock music but like FlyLeaf? Wow.
I love rock music and FlyLeaf is a little too hard for me. But that’s cool. I guess there’s always two perspectives. Yes, they could be influenced on the road, but that is assuming they are not surrounded by accountability and the prayer of their fans. I tend to look at Christian artists touring with these hard core anti-God mainsteam acts as nothing but a huge ministry opportunity. God is bigger than Korn and they are on the tour for a reason. If Korn invited them on for some other reason, they have a huge surprise awaiting them. I trust God’s plan in getting his message to people that need to hear it the most. Know what I’m saying?

I’m a big heavy metal fan, and Flyleaf is a little soft, but i still really respect them. I first saw Flyleaf at a concert with Skillet. I like bands who don’t stay in the christian bubble and go out to spread the Light. I’m glad that they decided to tour with Korn and I’m excited to see what comes of this. Flyleaf has done a good job so far, and I hope they keep serving God.
