NEWS: RIAA Certifies New Batch Of Christian Albums

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has announced its album certifications for September. The 2002 compilation project WoW Christmas (Red) was certified Platinum for shipments of more than one million units of the double-CD sets. Two other WoW projects, 2006’s WoW Worship: Aqua and 2005’s WoW Christmas (Green), were each certified Gold.

Rounding out the month’s certifications was Michael W. Smith’s 2000 instrumental project, Freedom (Reunion Records), which was certified Gold for shipments of more than 500,000 units. This marks the 13th Gold album certification for Smith in his career. He also has four Platinum-certified albums, one Platinum-certified video and two Gold-certified videos.
