NEWS: Gospel Music Hall of Fame Honors Longtime Favorites

The Gospel Music Association inducted a new class into its GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame on Tuesday, honoring composer and arranger Richard Smallwood, Southern gospel group The Hinsons, inspirational singer Doug Oldham and longtime contemporary Christian music business executive John T. Benson III.

Established in 1971 to spotlight the contributions of staple artists and industry linchpins from the gospel world, the Hall of Fame includes more than 140 of the market’s respected players. It has to date been more of a figurative thing, though, as there hasn’t been a physical hall to correspond, but GMA President John W.
