Singer and television personality talks about his efforts to make South Florida the gospel music capital. Q. Explain the concept behind the gospel music complex. A. I’m the recipient of the concept, actually. The Convention and Visitors Bureau in Fort Lauderdale was looking for projects to establish within the black community to help bring black tourists to the community. They began to look at gospel music, since it has become popular. They knew of my work and they asked if I would consider coming here to do a retreat.
