INTERVIEW: Mute Math Powers Up

Mute Math plays rock music with the kind of reckless abandon usually seen from professional stuntmen and NFL linebackers. The band has made waves among critics and fans with a live show featuring home-brew electronic equipment and an energy level that sometimes leaves the musicians with cuts and bruises.
  
Though based in New Orleans, half of the group is from the Ozarks. Drummer Darren King grew up in Marshfield, and guitarist Greg Hill is from Republic. King and Hill — along with keyboardist, singer and lyricist Paul Meany — spoke with News-Leader reporter Michael Brothers this week via telephone.
