ARTICLE: Derek Webb’s Hit CDs Do Things His Way

Derek Webb points fingers with his songs. There is a handful of artists each year who do something to make you stand up and take notice and Webb is at it again. Webb is no stranger to being part of something that gets him noticed. After several years as a founding member of one of Christian music’s pioneering bands in the late ’90s, Caedmon’s Call, Webb saw a chance to take his acoustic style of worship and folk-rock songwriting out on his own in 2003.

Now that Webb has released his greatest hits collection, “One Zero,” he’s doing it in a way that not many, if any, artists have done. Rather than putting the biggest songs of his solo career on one CD, he’s got two different CDs with the same songs - but they’re both must-haves as one CD is made of acoustic versions of the songs and the other is remixes.
